Victories

Victories don't come to the swift or the strong, and Ive found that often when you are victorious with God, your not always considered victorious with the world.
There are two different pursuits in this life, and they are the same as the two that were in the garden at the beginning of time.
The pursuit of life and the pursuit of knowledge. When you pursue God or Truth it is a pursuit of all that which leads to life. However this world teaches us to pursue knowledge every day from the pressure to get an education,to magazines and articles claiming that this or that is the way to go. Telling us that we can never be successful without it,"Knowledge is power". The struggle between the two can often make things so confusing for us who are caught in the middle. This world sets a path up for what they call "Success" ,but So does God. The two paths are so completely different and oftentimes, are at odds with one another.
What God considers victorious, noteworthy, and of great repore. The world will consider laughable, and scorn with distaste. What the world considers successful, valuable, and deserving of praise God often looks at as filthy, and full of deceit.
Two paths, two choices ,two different results...So who's opinion matters the most.
Most of us will say that of course its God's way,and yet so often we find ourselves on both paths, one foot in the ideology and social views of man,and one foot on the narrow path leading to life. Trying to mix the two and combine the water with the oil.
They just will not mix (because its against their nature to do so) but in this world we have so many voices plaguing us and surrounding us, So many children raised to believe in lies that are not founded on biblical truth or principle, lies that have no basis in reality.
"11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?"(James 3:11 KJV)
We are continuously surrounded by the double standard the double message, and two choices, But we cannot choose both. Our lives are not our own, we were bought and redeemed with a price but made free to choose. We do not have to do or say anything that He asks.He bought us back from our eternal fate and gave us the freedom to choose His life or our own, Now thats Love.
Question: How many of us, purchase a chicken and then set it free in the wilderness to choose whether or not it wants to stay and lay eggs in our yard?
Most people would consider us foolish if we did so,but that is exactly what God did.
He loved us MORE than the price he had to pay on that cross for us ,and so He gave His life knowing that not everyone would be saved, and that not everyone would choose Him or the right way to life.
The question is why would we ever choose anything other than Him, Because anything given by someone who loves us THAT much, has to be good for us.
God's Characteristics tell us of who He is and whether or not we can trust Him. and If you have an opposing view of God and it contradicts with the one just presented to you,You have been deceived, lied to, or given partial truth as to who God is and what He did for you...
The Pursuit of Joy,happiness, and love. These are all things that the human spirit wants. However there are two different kinds of Joy,Two different kinds of happiness, and Two different kinds of love. One is a false imitation, one is the real thing, one involves self gratification, the other involves the giving of ones whole self and will.
The choice is simple enough, The road we choose leads to our victory, In fact both roads do... except there are two different kinds of victory. Victory that lasts, and is of eternal priceless value, that leads you into never-ending peace, everything that is beautiful and true,or Victory that is fleeting,an exchange of your talent and energy for a fleeting moment of false Joy,acceptance, and peace, and a lifetime/eternity separated from the only one who ever loved you enough to give His life for you.
What do you call victorious, and what is YOUR purpose. What is your ultimate desire, and does it tend to life or death.
Yes,Victories don't come to the swift and the strong,They come to those who are yielded. To those who are humbly seeking truth, and to those who desire to be more like love..
The Route you will take in your Victories with God,will not often be recognized, praised,or uplifted by the world, but let me tell you something,If God is praising you,If the creator of the universe is uplifting you,and If the one who is over it all is calling YOU by name...
What greater pursuit could there possibly be?
"13 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it."
(Matthew 7:13-14)
