Here & Now

The older I have grown to be, the more I have found the truth in this saying:

"The only thing that stays the same, is that everything changes."

and boy does it change.

Every moment we have is precious, its the only moment like it and any similarities another moment might bear to it are only similarities and nothing more. The things you Love, the car you drive, the route you take to work in the morning, even most of the people you know right now all come and go in seasons.

True some things and people stay in our lives for as long as we live, but they don't remain unchanged, they still change with the season we are in.

The problems we face from our day to day are seasonal too, they come and they go each problem different from the next. The things that bring us the most joy and even the things that bring us the most pain can (you guessed it) change over time with each season, and us we change right along with our season whether we'd like to or not.

We cannot stop the consistent march of time, the ballad that is our lives. We may want too,we may even try too,but we can never freeze a moment forever.

So where do we find rest in this constant procession of events. What can we hold onto throughout this constant change. Where do we find consistency.

In relationships?

In our culture?

In our hobby?

In our Job?

No.

See the only thing that makes the thought of change sad, is when you look at it apart from purpose.

Change without purpose is meaningless and depressing.

But change with purpose, now that, is exciting!

Now, Im not saying changes are not scary, because they can be.

Fear and change go hand in hand when your not experiencing the peace and rest that comes from trusting in God.

And we all have experienced that fear at one time or another.

However,In the process of letting go we reckon ourselves to this one fact, this one thread of hope.

(Romans 8:28)

"...we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

We may not understand why certain things change and others stay the same,

but God does.

Im sure the disciples didn't understand in the process of Jesus being captured and crucified what the true purpose of all of it was,

The simple fact is, you don't want anyone or anything to stay consistent in your life out of their (it's) season.

All a person or thing will bring you when out of its season is heartache and sorrow.

The memory of past relationships, the fear of what has been, the pain of the hurts we have suffered, the desire to be well known, old music, old books, old movies that we loved when we were living in sin...

The danger isn't in the objects or things (persons) that we hold. the danger is in our desire to cling to them.

If we only knew the impact of our decisions we would never want to make any choice outside of Him.

God has a season, and a specific purpose and timing for our lives, and he has a specific season and timing for you.

Please don't cling to anything but Him,walk step by step in the present.

Be Here where you are right now and take each step as he directs.

Not alway seeing whats ahead and not clinging to whats behind,

but with each step letting go and conforming, transforming into the beautiful person that

He destined you to be.

Each season has its purpose,

SO trust in Him,

be present ,

just be here and now.

Isaiah 43:19

19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
