What is True Freedom?

" If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." Freedom... What is true freedom. What do we define as freedom,What does the world Culture tell you is freedom. Those who have the worlds definition of a free lifestyle "sex,drugs,living and doing whatever you please" It seems Only end up chained to more things (addiction,self loathing,guilt,fear ,loneliness,confusion...) . The effects of such a lifestyle to me actually seem to put you into WAY more bondage then anything else...Those who fall for this lie only seem to be diving into an ocean of false promises and artificial substances in order to recieve a high that will allow them to feel ok.. but what happens when all of that wears off and you are just a cold lonely person trapped in the seas of your mistakes and failures... owned by your own obsessions. Enslaved to the fulfilling of your desires,and trapped in a hole you dug yourself into. What Happens when the High wears off and no one is there to care anymore.... What happens then? Truth be told,I have not experienced alot of these things, But I have seen the effects of them on Loved ones and seen what this so called freedom does to the lives of those I know and love. It is not true freedom. Living for yourself is the most confusing,and lonely state a human being can be in. You might feel good when your doing what you want, but the rest of the time how do you feel? Whats your purpose,Your dreams. and when you get what you want,does it fill that void...or leave you wanting something more? I didnt have to go too far down the road before I realized that everything in this life that promises you peace,joy,fulfillment and TRUE FREEDOM... Is lying... That Life does not reflect the ideas portrayed in most movies and music...That these things eventually wear off in their glamour and become ugly twisted chains that choke the very lives from their victims. That take away their right of choice because they become addicted,and what once made them feel good only weighs down and weakens their resistance and will. True peace isnt found in Peoples,or places. You cannot fulfill your desires through pleasing others... You cannot make yourself free because we are born in bondage. and as we grow we realize it more and more. The only freedom I have ever found,that does not entrap or enslave me in any way is The Freedom I have found in Christ... Freedom from sin and Fear....HE set ME free and if it were not for His love and truth Coming in to my life I would not be alive...quite literally,I was ready to take my life and then he came in with his unending perfect Love and showed me TRUE FREEDOM! He has been setting me free ever since. and so I can tell you with all confidence and certainty that NOTHING in this world will give you the love and truth you desire indeed all pursuits in this life including knowledge and education are ultimately vain...(I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. Ecclesiasties 1 :14) The only Truth worth finding is found by living your life in pursuit of Christ. HE will Fill you with ALL the Joy,peace, and contentment you could ever imagine... Dont go another minute without allowing Him in! He LOVES YOU and If your searching search for Jesus If you hurting Find relief from your burdens in Him,And know that HE is the ONLY one who can give you TRUE FREEDOM!!! Amen!
